You know, one thing I'm really rubbish at is keeping up with the zillions of spanky blogs out there. And it's an overwhelming task to keep up with all the new blogs sprouting up monthly -- there are heaps of superlative new spanko blogs on the Interwebs, which is awesome, and new ones forming daily. So taking that into account, I can't really pick 2 or 3 new blogs that are the "cherry reds of the future."

 Why is Chross so influential?

I believe he has the most, or one of the most popular, spanko blogs on the Web. He has a knack for finding very rare video clips in mainstream films around the world, which really resonates with spankos, and rare and vintage photos.  He is a great aggregator of content throughout the blogosphere, and his blog has an active forum as well. If you get mentioned, which is now know as being "Chrossed," in one of his blog posts, you will see your stats shoot through the stratosphere!

 Daisy Dukes ? Is it just a by product of the TV series or is it more deep seated than that ? {*sniggers at own pun}

  Well, hmm, I actually never watched "The Dukes of Hazzard." Be that as it may, what is there not to like about a pair of diminutive, delicious denim short-shorts, and when you combine that with spanking, it creates an intoxicating blend of complete and total awesomeness. I started collecting daisy duke pix just for fun for another blog that was an absolute epic fail and I don't really update it anymore -- the blog never took off whatsoever in terms of getting regular readership. Daisy dukes, though they are indeed quite hot, are simply an article of clothing and it's not a "fetish," generally speaking. In contrast, blogging about spanking, that's a whole other world -- the spanko fetish is a lifestyle for many, an obsession and passion for some, and it's a fundamental part of many people's sexuality. 

 If it’s not too personal of a question may I ask are you ‘active’ in the Boston spanking scene with your contacts & the varied range of interviewees you host at CRR I’m surprised you are not a rising star in any number of  roles as Spanker in chief ? Any ambitions ?

Great question and the fact of the matter is I'm actually not that active in the local "scene," though there really is not a spanking specific scene that I'm aware of in the Boston area, though there are many BDSM-related groups and the like in this region. Yes, I know I should get off my duff and start my own spanko scene, start up my own cherry red spanko social club. Someday, perhaps. A lot of times I wished I lived in, say, the UK or the West Coast, where there are lots more spanko-specific events and groups. When the time is right, I'll venture out and bring some of my cherry red spirit to some parties in other geographic regions and get more involved.

 Off topic, I see that you like “juggling a Soccer ball”? As a Brit can I suggest you try getting someone to kick it at you good & hard so you can practice the all important ‘1st touch’ , ball control is essential when learning how to play ‘Football’ correctly, that is unless you want to simply be a circus act ? Also taking part in this interview means you automatically become a supporter of Stoke City FC !

While I appreciate your unsolicited advice on my soccer career, I say, I enjoy being a soccer circus act :-) I have been doing soccer ball "tricks" for years; however, I still can't flip it backwards and catch the dang thing on the back of my neck! But it is of course a top-notch cardio work-out. I have seen all the jaw-dropping street-ball tricks on YouTube, and all the in-game, real-time masterful techniques by Ronaldo and such, and that stuff blows my mind. I'm also somewhat obsessed with cycling, working out, old-school fitness techniques, mixed martial arts and recently got into boxing. Thankfully, the heavy bag I work out with does not punch back. Regarding martial arts, I'm obsessed with Bruce Lee, of course, and today's modern masters like Donny Yen and Tony Jaa. If start up another blog, it would probably be on fitness. Or mixed martial arts. And if not fitness, probably I'd be blogging about one of my other passions -- music.

 Back to spanking, I love many of the banners & re-touches you create on your sites, what software do you use & is this part of a bigger artistic talent ? CRR includes a lot of ‘Spanking Art’ I notice.

Thank you, however I can't reveal all my top-secret tools of the trade! But I'm just a hack and simply amateur-hour, graphically speaking, and I bow down to real artists like the legendary Kami Tora or true PhotoShop wizards like Mr. Hyde. But I try to hopefully bring a sense of good humor and whimsy to our cherry-red activities, and enjoy playing around with photos and making parody red-ass themed movie posters or faux spanko propaganda posters and the like. My new obsession is "vintage-ifying" new spanko photos so they look like they are from the 1930's or what-not, using a blend of many different graphical tools. Might have to do some blogging on that.

 Now, the age old question …. What got you into spanking & were you, like myself. ridiculously young when the bug bit ?

I have no idea what, if anything, specifically, sparked this "interest." And I thought I was the only one on the planet with this fetish, until I happened upon by chance, in college, an ad for Shadow Lane in a obscure literary erotica journal. Anyway, my memories of thinking about spanking, my fascination with it, go back to an incredibly early age. I think there's a strong probability that there is a "spanko" gene. i.e. the idea that some of us have a genetic predisposition to themes of, say, dominance and submission, and the desire for cherry redness and sizzling tushy hawtness. But who knows, really?

 How many sites/blogs do you have now ? The ’Cherry Red’ brand seems to have spread since I first started Spank Blogging ?

Besides the main blog, I have a site that allows you to watch heaps of spanking films on-demand called CherryRedMovies.com, and recently, I started a site that covers the male end of the spectrum, so to speak, called Spanking4Men.com. There are so few blogs, relatively speaking, that focus on males being spanked, I thought I could bring some cherry red flavoring to the topic.

 All good things come to an end {this interview for example!} is ‘Cherry Red’ set to run & run and if so how do you see things when your 8th blogversary comes around ?

Well, I plan to keep getting my blog on, and if the world does not end in 2012, I plan to keep on going and going, helping to keep the world safe for cherry red ass, and doing my own small part to help spark the eventual spanko global takeover of the world.
