Well has MarQe's Study hits the 2 Million barrier it is with great pleasure that I welcome Chross to my humble abode. Like so many Spanking Blogs out there a link in Chross's sidebar or a mention in his ubiquitous post "Spankings of the Week" has seen The Study's Hit Counter doing somersaults !! So it seemed right that he gets a feature to help me celebrate, I would be some way off 2 million without his assistance !! So .........

How long have you been blogging for at "Pretty Much the Ultimate Spanking Resource" namely Chross Blog, now ?
My very first blog post was on October 24 in 2006.
Its unique title "Testing some picture posting" already indicated the blogs importance in the time to come...
Whats your view on the steady increase of censorship on the net regards Adult themed blogs etc ?
Censorship of spanking related sites has always been an issue.
When the concept of the Yahoo groups was growing popular, spanking-related groups often disappeared without any warning.
Nowadays it's Blogger that deletes without a warning.
I've experienced this myself with the blog of a close person; it's very annoying.
Personally I've lost some accounts at video hosting sites over the years.
And you don't even get a response when you ask for an explanation..
Over the last weeks some popular blogs on Blogger were deleted, too.
But overall I'm not sure if there really is an increase in censorship.
With a larger and more active community of bloggers we might just be more aware of those deletions.
OK, standard question now. Did you discover your interest in all things spanking as I & many other people I have spoken to on the subject seemed to have done, at a surprisingly young age or did it get sparked off later on? With me it seemed to coincide with spanking in movies & TV but I am quite a bit older than you alas !
As long as I remember. I don't think there was a special event in mind that sparked it. To my mind it was more or less always there. I guess that's true for the majority of "spankos"...
If this feature wasn't so incredibly popular, I'd say I'd be stark raving mad to do it every week.
I started it when I felt a regular weekly feature would be nice to provide a certain structure for the blog.
It also made sense because it would ensure I would not miss any good stuff on the web -
and fill my growing online collections and databases with it (like the movie database, Spanking Showcase and such). But then the number of good blogs and sites kept growing and thus also the time required to put the post together.I was collecting the links "by hand" at first, but ended up having to code a script to support and simplify it (not the selection of the links itself, of course). Otherwise it would no longer be practicable.
So to answer your question: I don't know. But it's probably safe to say a minimum of three hours.
And then of course more time on the following days for the "postprocessing", i.e. database updates etc.
I'm just glad that my wife condones this "waste of spare time".
I love the fact that like Cherry Red & his 'Daisy Dukes' you have 'Kiss me Kate', where did you first discover the musical version of Taming of the Shrew ?
I'm not sure. I believe it was just serendipity, a discovery of a web page that had a good number of KMK
pictures on it.
I kept searching for more and discovered the Yahoo groups that had collected all these wonderful pictures of Kates being spanked over the years.
At the same time I had witnessed the deletion of Yahoo groups, either by the host or the owner itself.
So I decided to save all these pictures which took quite a while...since I also added the year and place of the performance on each picture.
From there on the collection has been growing ever since, receiving new pictures either from reader contributions, the groups or finding them on the web.
I've tried to keep MarQe's Study free from 'Severe' images & too many overtly sexual images. I think some sites {mentioning no names} but primarily Pay sites have taken the spanking Fetish a little too far down this route in more recent times, do you agree ?
Different people like different things. And sometimes even your own preferences change.
when I started exploring the internet and discovered those old spanking images (videos were hard to get, took ages to download and were of poor resolution)
I preferred the soft stuff, hand spankings were just fine by me. Canings struck me as quite brutal.
Ever since it's been going downhill with my meekness. But then I still feel that some stuff is really too hard, but this is limited to
very few companies. Anything causing blood to flow really is a no-go for me.
Spanking certainly in a way is also about pain and personal limits, but it should not result in damage like this. That's certainly not what spanking is all about.
As Dave commented in his interview with me there are so many new Spank related blogs launched each week it's almost impossible to keep up! Any promising newbies out there we should look out for ?
As I run a spanking blog myself I don't think it's appropriate for me to rate others. As to what I like - just check the Spankings of the Week ;).
And then there's my link list on the left side of my blog - newcomers are usually added at the end of each category, so it's easy to see find them!
I have my own Tumblr blog & it helps me to find some good material via links/follows, do you rate it as a good blogging tool ?
I like the Tumblr concept a lot. It's very easy to create your own selection of blogs you'd like to follow and then have
an amazing amount of stuff delivered to your screen automatically from those blogs every day.
I also have my own clandestine Tumblr blog out there...there's probably no easier way to create a picture driven blog than via Tumblr.
What is your earliest recollection of when Spanking discovered the Internet, or maybe visa versa?
I'll just try to remember a few names from those early days. There were Bernie's New Spanking Pages, sites like Laura's Spanking Corner, Nobbes cartoon spankings.
There was a site from Japan (but in English) called Katai. Pages were mostly kept simple to reduce load times.
Pictures were slow to load and most of the stuff shared were scans from old Spanking Magazines. But then, digital cameras were yet to become popular.
A ton of pages used paying systems like Cyberbill or Adultcheck and made great promises of the things they offered inside their members section,
but in the end also just offered same pictures.
There were far fewer professional companies selling spanking videos or pictures than today.
If you wanted to have access to a lot of spanking material, you had to learn how to handle the Usenet groups.
With modems being state-of-the-art and internet flatrates not yet available, getting those pictures and stuff took a lot of time - and money!
Can I ask you to name {in no particular order!} your three favourite Spanking models ? With the exception of the, & I quote, "beautiful brat"to whom you are married!!
There's just so many to chose from! I don't think it would be fair to name just three.
Is it just me or has the growing popularity and acceptance of our spanking fetish made it easier for the companies to find new (and pretty) models?
Just take a look at some newcomers lately, Kayla Apple {Below}, Annebelle Vanderwood, Adrienne Black (from Firmhand), Becca, Joelle and Pi (from Punishedbrats) and
Sally from Englishspankers, adult star Veronica Ricci at Spankedsweeties....incredible.
These are just good times to be a spanko I think :)
